Parent Counseling
Our kids are born on what we expect will be a linear path - Milestones are reached in a specific order, meaningful connections with others just happen, and they go through systems and structures in a straight line, or even better, with an upward trend.
Then life happens.
Milestones are missed, or interrupted. They can’t quite connect in the way that others seem to do so easily. You are told that they don’t fit within the structures and systems that everyone has told you leads to the golden path of success, happiness, and love from others. You may even feel different from what you expected – sad, angry, scared and alone, unsure of what to do. There’s no manual, no pattern to make sense of it all.
Together we’ll find ways to embrace sideways and “different” as an opportunity to figure out who you, and your child, can become when life doesn’t align with what is expected.
Our parent counselors are specialists in the areas of child development, school-based services, inclusion and child/teen therapy.
Many of us are parents ourselves.
We integrate this knowledge with our approach to therapy to not only support your parenting journey, but you as an individual.
