Why Patterns and Threads ?
Our founder, Michelle Paris, has been studying the link between creativity and psychology since before she graduated from her social work program over 20 years ago. The ability to think differently, how that happens, and how best to support a unique way of experiencing the world all became points of passion for her work.
She founded Patterns and Threads as both a nod to her creative love - fashion - and as a place where creative minds have a space to explore and be free to do their thing.
When we meet with clients, we explore the patterns - repeated things we, or others in our lives, do over and over again in response to our environment.
We also find the threads - what we bring to each of the spaces we are in - the stories, the strengths, the challenges. We then help clients develop patterns that work for them, break the ones that don’t, and create, or amplify, the threads they want to carry with them.
